Week Six | Marker Development Axos, The Selected Marker, Electroliquid Aggregation

Sample Markers

The Selected Marker to be further Developed

Electroliquid Aggregation

The original form of the combined axonometric (without curves) originally represented the notion of shadow as a material or ornament while the lower half embodied the celebration of the corner.
The new piece developed however has been curved and no longer implies the celebration of the corner. You could say that it is more of a volume of homogenous material carved out to create a space of solid and void.

Therefore the following formula result to the Electroliquid Aggregation notion:

Shadow as a material or ornament
+
Volume of homogenous material carved out to create a space of solid and void

Volume carved out to create space of void allows a manipulated cast of shadow
to become a new form of visual material or visual ornament.

Week Five | Concepts, Axos, Lumion

Concepts and ideas derived from the architecture of...

Carlo Scarpa:

Light as a tool for navigation - articulating the path.
Parts and whole - the idea of a 'whole' composed of a number of repeated shapes or geometries.
Interlocking as a means of joining.
Celebration of the corner.
Enhancing materiality through contrast.

Alvaro Siza:

Seamlessness
Articulating the gesture of circulation, continuous movement.
Shadow as material/ornament.
Volume of homogenous materials carved out to create spaces - solid/void
Clear delineation between inside and outside.
Monolithic scale vs human scale.
Form follows function.
